Former American tennis champion Andy Roddick will team up with Ben Stiller for a new pickleball comedy called “The Dink.”
The comedy will focus on a washed-up tennis professional attempting to save his club by reluctantly playing pickleball to earn his father’s respect, according to IMDb. Actor Jake Johnson will play the role of the tennis professional. Mary Steenburgen and Ed Harris are also part of the cast.
Stiller and Roddick are expected to have key supporting roles in the film, according to various reports. Stiller’s production company, Red Hour Films, and Rivulet Films will be part of the production.
Roddick has limited acting experience, making this his largest role yet.
He had a short appearance in “Just Go With It” in 2011, starring Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston and Roddick’s wife Brooklyn Decker. He appeared as himself on the fantasy sitcom “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” in 2002. Roddick also hosted an episode of “Saturday Night Live” in 2003.
Stiller is no stranger to sports, starring in the 2004 film “Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story” and often posting on X about his favorite team, the New York Knicks.
Production begins in November with the movie set to run on Hulu.
