Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert has been ruled out for Thursday night’s game against the Buffalo Bills while running back De’Von Achane is a game-time decision, coach Mike McDaniel said Wednesday.
Mostert sustained a chest injury in the Dolphins’ season-opening victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. He gained 19 yards from scrimmage before the injury.
“His injury, not many people play with. … He showed his toughness,” McDaniel said.
Achane is dealing with an ankle injury after touching the ball 17 times in Miami’s 20-17 victory over the Jaguars. He had 10 carries for 24 yards and a touchdown to go along with seven catches for 76 yards.
“We’ll see how it plays out,” Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said of Achane, who has been held out of practice this week.
Jeff Wilson Jr. and fourth-round draft pick Jaylen Wright likely will see playing time should Achane sit out on Thursday.
Wilson had five carries for 26 yards on Sunday. Wright was inactive for that game.
