Wrexham remain at the top of the League One table after bouncing back from their first defeat of the season to beat Crawley Town 2-1.
Phil Parkinson’s side went unbeaten in the first five matches of the season but fell short to Birmingham City on Monday in front of a star-studded crowd including owner Rob McElhenney, David Beckham and Tom Brady.
Elliott Lee and Max Cleworth reinstated Wrexham’s winning ways to clinch three points at STōK Cae Ras.
With two changes from the side that lost to Birmingham City, Wrexham took the lead in the first half despite Crawley creating many chances to score.
Wrexham broke the deadlock in the 24th minute after Crawley’s Will Swan shot wide.
Crawley retaliated in the second half as Armando Junior Quitirna stabilised Ronan Darcy‘s pass and shot past goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo.
After assisting Lee’s goal, Cleworth clinched the win for Wrexham will 11 minutes of the game remaining.
