Nearly two months after going viral on TikTok, Kitty Ford, also known as “Grandma Kitty,” has finally met Stephen Curry.
Ford caught the attention of the Golden State Warriors star in January when a TikTok video surfaced detailing her Warriors fandom. Grandma Kitty keeps track of Curry’s performances and games using a notebook, while watching on NBA League Pass.
Curry responded to the video by inviting her to Golden State’s matchup against the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday.
“We’d love to have you and bring your book,” Curry said then. “You don’t have to watch on League Pass, you can come watch in person.”
The two met before Thursday’s game as Grandma Kitty gave the four-time NBA champion a hug. Curry then gave her a signed jersey with “Grandma Kitty” written on the back.
In a separate TikTok video, Grandma Kitty showcased a magazine with a Curry quote that read: “I hope I inspire people all around the world to just be themselves, be humble, and be grateful for all the blessings in your life.” She emphasized the quote and said: “This is why I like him so.”
Heading into Thursday, Curry was averaging 24.1 points, 6.3 assists and 4.5 rebounds.
