Man City’s Rodri out for season after ACL surgery

MANCHESTER, England — Manchester City midfielder Rodri will miss the rest of the season, manager Pep Guardiola confirmed on Friday.

Rodri suffered a knee injury during the 2-2 draw with Arsenal and traveled to Barcelona for tests on Monday.

Speaking at a news conference Friday, Guardiola confirmed the Spain international had surgery and will be sidelined for the rest of the campaign.

“He had surgery this morning, ACL and some meniscus, we think. Next season he will be with us. This season is over. Unfortunately, we got the worst news but that is what happened, we will be there to support him and move forward step by step.”
