Walker Valley to return to Spring Fling, Baylor forces decisive Game 3, Red Bank's season comes to a close

For the second straight year, the Walker Valley softball team is headed to Murfreesboro. Freshman Nessa Byers walks it off in the eighth inning, as the Lady Mustangs defeat Oakland 1-0.
"I had been struggling all day, and when I saw it come inside, I felt contact with it. Everything I had been working up to that really paid off. When I saw that ball, I just knew," Byers explained.
Head Coach Lauren Limberg added, "I was swinging my hardest to send Amy [Benson] as hard as I possibly could. I literally about dislocated my shoulder because I was like 'we are going.'"
Ryann Presswood, who threw a complete game shutout, said, "It's really exciting going back, cause we know what we're expecting now and I think that gives us a big advantage."

Walker Valley will open up their Murfreesboro run on Tuesday afternoon against Page at 3 p.m. EST.
After Thursday night's heartbreaking 4-3 loss in extra innings, Red Bank was looking to even up the series. The Lions did so, winning Game 2, 6-5. However the team's magical season came to an end, with Upperman taking the decisive Game 3, 7-4.
Meanwhile, nine-time defending state champion Baylor softball was looking to make it back to their second home.
Tipton-Rosemark, though, proved to be a problem, with the Rebels upsetting the Lady Raiders 2-0. To no one's surprise, Baylor won Game 2 with ease, cruising to a 14-2 victory. The deciding Game 3 will be played Saturday at noon at the Baylor School.
