Gauff and Keys Advance, Pegula Falls as French Open Quarterfinals Take Shape

American hopes are still alive at Roland-Garros, as Coco Gauff and Madison Keys punched their tickets to the French Open quarterfinals on Monday. Meanwhile, fellow American Jessica Pegula was eliminated, falling short in her bid to join them in the final eight.
Gauff, the 2022 French Open finalist, continued her strong clay-court form with a straight-sets win, displaying poise and power in front of a lively Court Philippe-Chatrier crowd. Madison Keys also impressed, using her aggressive baseline play to move past a tough opponent and secure her place in the quarters.
“It’s always special to go deep here,” said Gauff after her match. “I feel confident on clay and excited for what’s ahead.”
Pegula, however, couldn’t find her rhythm and was ousted in a hard-fought contest, ending her run in the fourth round.
On the men’s side, defending champion Novak Djokovic advanced with a composed victory, keeping his title defense alive. World No. 1 Jannik Sinner also moved on, continuing his strong 2025 campaign and setting up what could be a blockbuster final if both stars keep winning.
With the quarterfinals now set, the French Open is heating up, and fans can expect plenty of drama as the tournament heads toward its final weekend.
