Baldwin Powers Braves Past Marlins with Career Night

ATLANTA — Rookie catcher Drake Baldwin bolstered his NL Rookie of the Year case Thursday, going 3-for-5 with two home runs and five RBIs to lead the Braves to a come-from-behind 8-6 win over the Marlins at Truist Park.
Baldwin launched a solo homer in the first, a three-run shot in the sixth, and tied the game with an RBI single in the seventh—his first career multi-homer game. The 24-year-old is now batting .308 over his last 15 games and ranks among rookie leaders in home runs (13), RBIs (46), and OPS (.840).
“He’s right there in all the categories,” manager Brian Snitker said. “If he keeps going like this, it won’t surprise me a bit to see him win [Rookie of the Year].”
The win snapped a three-game skid for Atlanta.
