Area Standouts Named to TSWA All-State Baseball Team

Ooltewah senior Drew Wood capped a stellar high school career with a selection to the Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State baseball team, one of 10 Chattanooga-area standouts honored.
A Cleveland State signee, Wood was one of Class 4A’s top two-way players, leading Ooltewah to its first 20-win season since 2017. The District 6-4A Player of the Year batted .438 with 57 hits — 27 of them for extra bases — including 16 doubles, six triples, and five home runs. He drove in 39 runs, scored 33, and stole 10 bases. On the mound, the right-hander posted a 6-2 record with a 3.33 ERA and 61 strikeouts over 50 1/3 innings.
"Drew has been a cornerstone for our program the last four years," Owls coach Seth Hickman said. "He’s a leader in every way and has helped set a new standard."
