Copper Basin’s Zoe Green Honored with National Award for Sportsmanship and Leadership

COPPERHILL, TN — Copper Basin High School graduate Zoe Green has been named a recipient of the prestigious National Federation of State High School Association (NFHS) Award of Excellence for Sportsmanship, Ethics, and Integrity.

This honor, presented in partnership with the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA), highlights student-athletes who exemplify outstanding character, leadership, and integrity both on and off the field. Zoe is among a select group of honorees recognized statewide.

A standout leader and co-captain of the Lady Cougars, Zoe played a pivotal role in Copper Basin’s historic first trip to the state basketball tournament in Murfreesboro. She earned All-District honors, was named Regional Tournament MVP, and received the “Leader of the Pride” award at the team banquet for the second year in a row. In addition to basketball, she was a key contributor on the volleyball court.

Beyond athletics, Zoe was an Honors graduate, earning multiple academic awards and scholarships. Her achievements reflect the values the NFHS Award aims to celebrate—integrity, discipline, and a commitment to excellence in all areas of life.

“Leaders who show respect, integrity, and good sportsmanship not only influence their peers but demonstrate values that extend beyond athletics,” said the TSSAA in a statement.

Copper Basin High and the local community proudly congratulate Zoe on this well-deserved recognition and look forward to seeing all she accomplishes in the future.
