Mustangs Run Past Raiders

CLEVELAND, Tenn. - The Mustangs dominated their cross-county rivals Cleveland 28-3 in the season opener, powered by an explosive performance from Austin Peay commit Roman Eulo, who accounted for four touchdowns and over 100 total yards of offense.

Quarterback Chase Stephens orchestrated the offense with precision, throwing for 127 yards and connecting with Eulo for one of his four touchdowns. Transfer receiver Sawyer Boyd made an immediate impact with 64 yards on five receptions, proving the roster additions were worthwhile. While Cason Cunningham contributed 139 rushing yards to help establish the Mustangs' physical dominance throughout the contest.

Cleveland's offense struggled throughout the contest, managing only a single scoring drive that resulted in a field goal from Sloan Bolanos. Junior quarterback Kason McGowan, was limited to just 93 passing yards. The Blue Raiders found some success on the ground through Bra'Shaun Beard's 49 rushing yards, but Walker Valley's defense controlled the tempo by forcing three turnovers and dominating time of possession.

The victory sets up another challenging matchup for Walker Valley, as they face Bradley Central next week in another non-region rivalry game.
