DAYTON, Tenn., August 2025 — The United Way of Rhea County is gearing up for the 14th Annual Fish the Chick Bass Tournament, slated for Saturday, September 6, 2025, on the storied waters of Lake Chickamauga.
Anglers will gather at dawn for the day-long competition, which has become a staple fundraiser supporting single women and mothers in the community—programs that have already provided over $80,000 in assistance to those in need
Pre-event registration and packet pickup will take place Friday, September 5, at Monkeytown Brewery, where participants can retrieve boat numbers and commemorative T-shirts from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. EDT (EST). Organizers will also be accepting in-person sign-ups during that time
“We’re proud to host the 14th year of Fish the Chick,” said a United Way of Rhea County spokesperson. “This tournament unites anglers, families, and sponsors in support of a cause that truly changes lives.” All proceeds stay local, directly benefiting Rhea County residents through targeted support programs
Lake Chickamauga remains a premier regional bass-fishing destination, offering anglers an iconic setting filled with trophy potential, scenic waterways, and a strong local support network
Spectators, community members, and prospective anglers are encouraged to visit the United Way’s website or contact their office for registration, sponsorship opportunities, and tournament rules. With a history of growth and impact, this year’s event promises to deliver both spirited competition and a meaningful boost to local families in need.
