Battling through a rainy final round, Spaun capped off a stunning comeback with a 64-foot birdie on the 18th hole to finish 1-under par. The victory makes him just the fifth player in the last century to win the U.S. Open after never previously making the tournament cut.

In Major League Baseball, the Braves fell hard to the Rockies, losing 10–1 in Colorado on Sunday. Atlanta is off today but returns to action tomorrow, opening a series against the New York Mets.

The College World Series continues with Louisville eliminating Arizona over the weekend. Meanwhile, Coastal Carolina and Oregon State will meet again after splitting games in their Super Regional.

In the WNBA on Friday night, Rhyne Howard lit up the scoreboard with a career-high 36 points, sinking a franchise-record nine three-pointers to lead the Atlanta Dream to an 88-70 win over the Chicago Sky. Brittney Griner also made history, moving into second on the WNBA’s all-time blocks list.
