The Braves beat the Royals last night 10-7 in Kansas City

The Atlanta Braves acquired veteran right-hander Carlos Carrasco from the New York Yankees for cash or a player to be named later. Carrasco adds depth to Atlanta’s injury-riddled rotation after posting a 3.27 ERA in Triple-A despite struggles in limited MLB action.

Ryne Sandberg, the legendary Baseball Hall of Fame second baseman primarily with the Chicago Cubs and a former Knoxville Smokies manager, has died at age 65 following a courageous battle with metastatic prostate cancer 

.In addition to his celebrated playing career—highlighted by ten All-Star selections, nine Gold Gloves, seven Silver Sluggers, and the 1984 National League MVP—Sandberg later managed in the minors and for the Philadelphia Phillies, and continued to serve as a beloved ambassador for the Cubs

Colorado Buffaloes Football coach Deion Sanders announced that he had undergone surgery to remove his bladder after doctors discovered a tumor there. 

Sanders said, since the surgery, there are no traces of cancer, and he will continue to coach this season.
